About These Rates

Tankerworld's Worldscale freight rate Index is computed as average Worldscale freight rate on the day from all available spot market fixtures for each specific tanker sector.

The Index values for all sectors are updated during the day. Therefore the daily Index for a sector may change as freight rate data are being updated during the day. However, the daily Index is normally closed at 19:00 CET which fixes the index value for that date.

To view an index for a period, just click on the View Index history link to see the daily index for the last five trading days. Subscribers may use the main menu to see a much longer period.
